Job SummaryWe're looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electronics Engineer to lead the development of automotive electronics, including In-Vehicle Infotainment, driver displays, autonomous driving hardware, and interior monitoring. As a key member of our global team, you'll work closely with experts in various fields, quickly learning new skills and effectively communicating technical topics to engineering management and engineers.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and lead the design of automotive electronics systems, including In-Vehicle Infotainment, driver displays, autonomous driving hardware, and interior monitoring.
- Work closely with global team members to modify and create technical presentations for internal teams and customers.
- Propose, design, and develop adaptations to global platforms needed for the North American market.
- Review technical portions of RFI's and RFQ's and provide effort estimates to add features and functionality to existing products or create new products.
- Lead technical portions of presentations to customers and interface with customers on technical issues.
- Lead the development of demonstration properties as proof of concept (PoC) and/or for customer presentations.
- Lead and mentor engineers involved in local product development.
- Communicate and work with software design teams to ensure optimized product performance.
- Communicate electrical hardware design to mechanical design teams to ensure designs are optimized for thermal performance, EMC, and other environmental exposure.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Consistent participation in ongoing career development education, either through advanced degree programs or certification programs.
- 8 years of experience in the automotive industry, preferably in electronics/software.
- 5 years of experience as an expert.
- 5 years' experience programming with C or C++ or 5+ years' experience in design of automotive electronics.
- Experience with schematic capture tools.
- Familiarity with PCB layout tools and experience reviewing board layouts.
- Proficient understanding of embedded device programming.
- Ability to decompose business requirements into functional specifications, design documentation, and use cases, creation of support documentation.
- Familiarity with chipset offerings from top suppliers in this field.
- Experience working with software teams to optimize hardware architecture for both cost and performance.
- Understanding of thermal environment and design optimization.
- Familiar with a multitude of automotive operating systems.
- Familiar with state-of-the-art techniques for the development of embedded systems.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- English required; customer's language strongly preferred.
- Strong leadership and managerial skills.
- Ability to work in a multicultural and fast-paced environment.
- Ability to travel nationally and internationally to work with global product, sales, and engineering teams.
- Ability to cultivate innovation, optimize work processes, and drive results.
