Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage customer balances daily to ensure timely receipt of payment, prioritizing collection activity to meet business objectives.
- Assess credit risk and determine customer credit limits and payment terms based on their creditworthiness.
- Communicate effectively with customers via phone and email to resolve payment and collection issues.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including Accounts Receivable, Customer Service, and Sales, to address customer concerns and maintain positive relationships.
- Provide recommendations to the Credit Manager/Team Lead on problem accounts and develop strategies for resolution.
- Release customer orders blocked for credit review and investigate issues related to payments made by credit card and checks.
- Update customer details and communication in credit files in a timely manner.
- Represent the company in a professional and customer-focused manner when interacting with customers and external parties.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information discreetly.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; higher education is an asset.
- Proficiency in English, with a minimum of B2 level in verbal and written communication.
- Experience processing credit card payments and investigating credit card payment errors.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a financial field, preferably credit and collections.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook and Excel.
- SAP experience is an asset.
- Creativity, negotiation, and mediation skills are essential.
- Excellent follow-up and organization skills, with attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
- Proven ability to work in a team environment and contribute to team success.
- Willingness to receive and provide feedback.
- Productivity and ongoing improvement mindset.
