Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician to join our team at Milacron. As a key member of our technical support team, you will be responsible for providing expert maintenance and repair services to our clients in the food processing industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctions of food preparation equipment, utilizing a wide range of procedures and exercising sound judgment in the analysis of facts or circumstances.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including adjusting, aligning, assembling, calibrating, inspecting, lubricating, and testing of equipment.
  • Conduct electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, utilizing innovative problem-solving skills to remedy situations and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain frequent contact with our office to receive service assignments and review service problems with advisors, supervisors, or managers.
  • Consistently achieve or surpass weekly productivity and service labor revenue goals assigned by management.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest modifications, retrofits, and equipment developments, ensuring a working knowledge of the latest technologies.
  • Assist colleagues with equipment installations and major repair assignments, maintaining a working knowledge of parts stocking and identification methods.
  • Satisfactorily complete maintenance, sanitation, and audio/visual field training as required.
  • May work overtime with short notice, including on-call assistance in developing sales leads for contracts.
  • Assist with product demonstrations at customer locations and trade shows, as necessary.
  • Comply with all service policies and procedures, as well as safety standards.
  • Perform PLC and HMI programming, consulting with bakers to identify process improvements and diagnose mechanical weaknesses.
  • Utilize scoping power meters, multimeters, calipers, or other basic assessment tools to troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Travel domestically and internationally, with up to 75% of time spent on the road, including extended hour work weeks (average 60-65 hours).
Requirements
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills for effective internal and external customer interactions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and display sound judgment on high-profile projects.
  • Excellent customer interaction skills, with the ability to prepare installation quotes and work on a variety of equipment.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, lift 50-75 lbs, and climb up to 8 ft. with a ladder.
  • Extensive walking and driving each day, with exposure to noise, heat, cold, slippery, and wet conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Rockwell Logix and factory talk experience.
  • Strong electrical skills, including ability to troubleshoot and basic PLC knowledge.
  • Knowledge of bakery process and automation processes.
  • Strong welding and fabrication skills.
  • Strong mechanical ability, including pneumatics, hydraulics, and general fabrication.
  • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Education

High School Diploma or GED, with 5+ years of experience as an assembler, electrician, or welder.
