Learning Specialist/Sr. Learning Specialist

As a Learning Specialist/Sr. Learning Specialist at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will be responsible for managing projects and collaborating with teams to deliver learning solutions on time, on budget, and on quality. You will work closely with vendor management to manage learning software platforms and vendor relationships. Your duties will include analyzing requirements, drafting, reviewing, and finalizing submissions, creating processes and materials that support established programs and projects, and supporting less experienced project managers. You will also perform special projects, assignments, and administrative tasks as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage projects and collaborate with teams to deliver fit for purpose learning solutions on time, on budget, and on quality.
• Work closely with vendor management team to manage learning software platforms and vendor relationships.
• Analyze requirements and collaborate with team to draft, review, and finalize submissions (awards, RFP).
• Creates processes and materials that support established programs and projects.
• Supports key projects programs by refining internal processes for the department. Supports less experienced project managers, enabling their growth and development with activities such as mentoring, coaching sessions, team development workshops.
• Performs special projects, assignments, and administrative tasks per business needs.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic/vocational qualification.
• Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 2+ years).
• In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training, and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
• Strong knowledge of project management standards and practices, with a minimum of 1-2 years' experience managing projects in the area of talent development.
• Technical writing proficiency, experience writing award applications and Requests for Proposal (RFP) preferred.
• Basic consultancy skills.
• Good computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, Office 365 tools, and SharePoint, experience with resource management and PM tools preferred.
• Effective ability to query, compile, enter, track, and maintain data and records management systems.
• Fundamental ability to translate issues into actionable business solutions. Close attention to detail and strong organizational skills to deliver high-quality work within project timelines.
• Effective ability to deliver solutions in a collaborative and cross-functional global environment, with an understanding of user perspective.
• Effective oral presentation and written communication skills.
Working Conditions:
Frequently stationary for 6-8 hours per day. Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Frequent mobility required. Occasional crouching, stooping, bending, and twisting of upper body and neck. Light to moderate lifting and carrying (or otherwise moves) objects including luggage and laptop computer with a maximum lift of 15-20 lbs. Ability to access and use a variety of computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelf. Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Frequently interacts with others to obtain or relate information to diverse groups. Works independently with little guidance or reliance on oral or written instructions and plans work schedules to meet goals. Requires multiple periods of intense concentration. Performs a wide range of variable tasks as dictated by variable demands and changing conditions with little predictability as to the occurrence. Ability to perform under stress. Ability to multitask. Regular and consistent attendance.
