About the Position

The FCO Internal Audit Specialist role presents an exciting and demanding opportunity for a proactive audit professional eager to enhance their existing accounting and auditing expertise through comprehensive exposure to a dynamic international enterprise. This position focuses on evaluating the design and operational effectiveness of the Company's internal control framework to proficiently manage and mitigate risks. The Internal Audit department emphasizes professional development, offering training, networking opportunities, and potential rotation into various business unit roles. Internal Audit is recognized as a premier entry point into the Carrier Finance organization.

Carrier's internal audit teams conduct risk-based assessments and propose strategic solutions to Carrier's business units. Collaborating closely with management, the Internal Audit group employs the latest auditing methodologies and technologies to ensure the delivery of value-added audits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in the execution of risk-based audits
  • Evaluate risks associated with key business processes, leading to the formulation of audit plans and specific audit programs
  • Contribute to the development of process maps for significant financial, business, compliance, and operational processes to identify potential internal control deficiencies and suggest improvement opportunities
  • Draft clear and concise audit findings
  • Participate in special initiatives related to departmental quality enhancement
  • Contribute to Sarbanes-Oxley reviews

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business
  • A minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience with Big 4 or multinational firms, or internal audit experience
  • CPA, ACCA, or CIA credentials are considered a strong advantage
  • Proven experience in successfully collaborating within teams and delivering on-time results
  • In-depth knowledge of internal controls and US GAAP accounting standards
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with the ability to work effectively across all organizational levels and functions
  • Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate diverse teams towards operational efficiencies
  • Knowledge and experience in project management, along with strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with proven presentation abilities
  • Proactive and results-oriented mindset
  • Willingness to travel within North and Latin America, averaging 25%-30% of work time, with occasional cross-region travel (EMEA, Asia Pacific) required.
