Job Overview

At Zendesk, we are seeking a meticulous and business-oriented Strategic Project Portfolio Specialist to join our Corporate Program Management Office (CPMO). This position plays a crucial role in managing and enhancing our project and OKR portfolios, ensuring alignment with our organizational goals. The Specialist will collaborate with CPMO leadership, Corporate Strategy, and various teams across the organization to develop and sustain our cross-functional program roadmap while supporting the governance of our corporate strategy through OKRs.

Within the Strategy & Transformation Team, the Corporate Program Management Office oversees Zendesk's strategic project portfolio, facilitating essential operational processes that support project prioritization and strategic alignment. The Corporate Strategy team is responsible for guiding the development and execution of our corporate strategy, which includes defining and supporting key business activities such as long-range planning, annual planning, goal setting, and OKR facilitation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain comprehensive strategic project portfolio reports, roadmaps, and OKR updates for senior management.
  • Collaborate with Business Leads, Program Managers, and delivery team leaders to ensure precise and timely reporting of program plans and OKR progress.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancement and provide strategic recommendations to improve OKR governance and cross-functional resource alignment processes.
  • Effectively communicate with cross-functional teams to synthesize information, comprehend challenges, and propose solutions.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of cross-functional resource planning, change control, and OKR governance practices.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple assignments concurrently in a dynamic environment.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the organization by delivering valuable insights and recommendations based on the project portfolio and OKRs.
  • This role requires a presence in the local office for part of the week, with flexibility for remote work.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Program Manager, Project Portfolio Analyst, Operations Analyst, or similar role within a fast-paced SaaS environment.
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively across the organization.
  • Ability to adapt your approach and that of the Strategy & Transformation Team to meet the needs of Zendesk teams.
  • Proficiency in following and positively influencing OKR and CPMO methodologies and best practices.
  • Strong experience with Google Suite (sheets, docs, slides, etc.) and Smartsheet.
