Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Account Payable Specialist to join our team at Chemtreat. As an Account Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for recording vendor invoices, coordinating weekly payment runs, and ensuring tax and electronic accounting compliance for all invoices.

Main Responsibilities
  • Coordinate weekly payments run and update reports to track amount disbursed.
  • Record invoices, perform administrative, cost, and other accounts payable analysis, and follow up with payment history reports and payment calendars.
  • Review intercompany statements and coordinate monthly balance confirmations.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and handle payment complaints or discrepancies.
  • Ensure all invoices and advance payments include required approvals based on Department of Administration (DoA) and before recording in the system.
  • Gather and review proper tax requirements, purchase orders, proof of receipt of goods/service, expense, and payment approvals.
  • Control monthly expenses, paid in advance, accruals, and accounts payable balances in month-end close.
  • Provide information about administrative services to the accounting area in case accruals are required for month-end close activities.
  • Responsible for analyzing and delivering monthly reports that include direct and indirect cost allocation by customer.
  • Coordinate vendor web portal access, upgrades, and changes. Set up new vendors and resolve issues with the portal.
  • Coordinate and review IT services provided for operational and accounting systems by managing user requests with the IT external vendor.
  • Responsible for delivering monthly reconciliations for blackline purposes.
  • Provide support with internal and external audits (SAT).
  • Understanding of SOX methodology and associated standards to implement and improve processes.
Requirements
  • Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience in Accounts payable and Finance areas.
  • Experience with Finance reports for global companies.
  • Experience with internal and external audits.
  • Knowledge in Mexican GAAP and Tax requirements.
  • Previous experience with finance modules in ERP's.
Abilities
  • Fluent in Spanish. English preferable.
  • Advanced MS Excel.
  • Oriented to detail and organized.
  • Highly result-oriented and able to work under pressure.
  • Analytical mindset.
  • Proactive and with a high sense of teamwork.
  • Customer service-oriented (internal and external).
  • Focused on process improvement.
