About this role
This position is an exciting opportunity to work with the U.S. Foreign Assistance Program to Mexico, providing professional and administrative support services.
- The successful candidate will be based in Mexico City and may require travel to other locations in Mexico, the United States, and other countries.
The Canine Operations Specialist will assist and advise INL's Canine and Special Operations Program Manager and relevant Government of Mexico entities on:
- SUPPORTING TRAINING: Provide technical assistance and equip canine units and special operations units.
- EQUIPMENT DONATIONS: Recommend equipment donations for canine and special operations units.
- PROGRAM IMPACT: Support monitoring and evaluation efforts to measure program impact.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Mexican Citizenship or Third Country National status.
- Spanish FSI level 4/4 and English FSI level 3/3.
- A Bachelor's degree in social sciences or an Associate degree with five years related experience from an accredited institution.
- Experience in K9 special operations and management, including at least three years in Mexican K9 units in GOM or private sector.
- Ability to pass a U.S. Embassy RSO security background check.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively deal with senior U.S. and GOM officials.
You will work in a dynamic environment, drafting and authoring reports, and working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
