Job Summary:

A talented Regional EHS Compliance Manager is sought by Sterling Kohler to spearhead safety and environmental initiatives across the LATAM region. Reporting directly to the MGR-Regional EHS, LATAMs, this individual will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulations and developing strategic EHS plans to drive performance improvement objectives.

This position requires a strong understanding of current and proposed safety and environmental regulations within the region. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of laws and regulations, as well as experience in EHS auditing, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain awareness of regional regulatory trends and develop strategies to mitigate potential risks to business operations.
  • Drive regulatory compliance at all facilities within the region, working closely with facility leadership to implement and monitor planned activities.
  • Track government agency activity and share lessons learned, providing regular updates to regional leadership on current efforts, trend analysis, and potential future impacts.
  • Evaluate and approve waste disposal sites, recycling vendors, sewage treatment facilities, and other contracted services to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Review capital projects to confirm permit needs and assess any potential impacts from existing or proposed regulations.
  • Develop and implement tools, training, guidance, policies, and programs necessary to ensure compliance, facilitating EHS communication and training related to policies, procedures, standards, reporting, and initiatives.
  • Analyze EHS KPI reports and provide targeted risk reduction efforts to improve performance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, or safety science; MS preferred with certification as CSP, CHMM, PE, etc.
  • At least seven years of experience in a corporate environment, preferably with international exposure.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to achieve results.
  • Comfortable interacting with various levels of an organization and external stakeholders.
