JOB OBJECTIVE:

The primary goal of this role is to oversee the QC department, strategize, organize, and execute tasks related to the quality assessment of raw materials and finished products.

This position collaborates closely with various departments to address quality-related challenges and solutions while managing urgent matters and liaising with other teams, suppliers, and clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct quality assessments of raw materials and fragrances (including organoleptic and physical-chemical evaluations).
  • Identify and establish processes to enhance production quality standards.
  • Lead investigations into quality concerns stemming from internal rejections and customer feedback.
  • Determine root causes and implement solutions for products that fail to meet standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality-related issues.
  • Engage with external clients regarding technical inquiries related to quality.
  • Manage, uphold, and continuously enhance systems to fulfill customer expectations.
  • Follow up with clients on incidents post-shipping.
  • Ensure all QC equipment in the laboratory is properly maintained.
  • Translate organizational goals into departmental objectives and refine them as necessary.
  • Create schedules for analyses based on employee capacity.
  • Coordinate, mentor, and inspire the team, planning and monitoring human resources to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Promote and oversee the quality of the department's outputs.
  • Drive continuous improvement, process automation, and digitalization to boost efficiency and productivity in the APAC region.
  • Collaborate with the Global QC team to align processes.

EDUCATIONAL AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

A minimum of a degree in chemistry, biology, food science, or a pharmaceutical field.

Strong communication skills in English, both spoken and written.

EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE:

>5 years in a fragrance company within a technical, analytical, or quality control capacity, including at least 1-2 years in a leadership role.

Proficient in olfactory analysis of raw materials and/or final products.

Familiarity with SAP, chromatographs, densimeters, colorimeters, and best laboratory practices, along with strong olfactory skills.
