Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain internal KPIs to support Quality and Plant divisional goals.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective corrective actions.
  • Plan resources to balance workloads for personnel under their coordination.
  • Certify personnel in critical operations, including testing, inspection, and calibration.
  • Lead savings projects for the quality department and the entire site, aligned with the Plant's continuous improvement strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and safety procedures applicable to the manufacturing site.
  • Plan, execute, and follow up on NPD/NPI controls.
  • Plan, execute, and follow up on ECN controls.
  • Communicate customer corrective actions and ensure their implementation.
  • Attend required trainings and stay up-to-date with industry developments.

Authority and Decision-Making:

  • Report to the Site Quality Manager and work together to develop quality strategies aligned with Copeland's Quality Corporate goals.
  • Oversee Quality Engineers for Comfort Controls, design strategies, and supervise Site KPI.
  • Main communication with customers regarding quality issues.
  • Oversee New Product Introduction.
  • Develop and validate corrective actions when required by customers.
  • Make decisions to align Quality KPI with Site KPI.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality management, or a related field. Advanced degree or certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, ASQ Certified Quality Engineer) are a plus.
  • Proven experience in quality leadership, quality assurance in electronics, or a related field within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems, standards (e.g., ISO 9001, IPC 610), and regulatory requirements (e.g., UL, NOM) and problem-solving using six sigma approach.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with quality tools and methodologies such as statistical process control (SPC), root cause analysis, and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA).
  • Proficiency in quality management software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, quality management systems).
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Desired Skills:

  • Master's degree in quality or administration.
  • Intermediate Statistical Knowledge (ANOVA, DOE).
  • IPC 610 certified.
  • Experience in other departments in addition to Quality.
  • Six sigma Green Belt certification.
  • Certified internal auditor ISO 9001.
