Job Summary:
The Senior Commercial Banking Manager is accountable for the management of complex and critical professional disciplinary areas within the Commercial Banking division of Citigroup Inc. This role leads and directs a team of professionals, requiring a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within the function and how they interact to achieve the objectives of the division.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive innovation in solutions provided to clients through partnerships with product specialists and subject matter experts.
- Execute strategic initiatives launched centrally at all levels, including Group, Bank, commercial market, and EIB.
- Oversee the credit relationship of clients, coordinating and supervising the entire process to ensure the proper application of policies and institutional processes.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Citigroup's policies/guidelines at all times.
- Lead a team of Relationship Managers (RMs) and be responsible for calling on clients to deepen relationships and proactively owning, responding to, and anticipating future needs, roadblocks, or risks.
- Attract, retain, and motivate a team, along with responsibility for managing a budget and meeting team sales goals.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in commercial banking.
- In-depth knowledge of all aspects of commercial banking, including commercial credit knowledge and the ability to quickly learn new products and services.
- Sound judgment and creativity in providing credit/deposit solutions to bank clients.
- Significant experience with commercial credit decision-making authority, including experience in complex capital structures and cross-border transactions.
- Minimum intermediate-level credit skills with the capability to demonstrate advanced-level credit skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting and interact with a variety of internal and external constituencies.
- Proven track record of successfully managing and leading teams through complex change.
- Reputation for retaining, attracting, and developing talent.
- Proven leadership ability with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Able to express a sound opinion and agreeably present another viewpoint.
- Sharp business development focus and ability to demonstrate innovative approaches.
- Able to quickly adapt priorities based on the latest data insights.
Education: Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred.
