Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Learning and Development Manager to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for managing projects and collaborating with teams to deliver learning solutions on time, on budget, and on quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects and collaborate with teams to deliver fit for purpose learning solutions.
  • Work closely with vendor management team to manage learning software platforms and vendor relationships.
  • Analyze requirements and collaborate with team to draft, review, and finalize submissions.
  • Create processes and materials that support established programs and projects.
  • Support key projects programs by refining internal processes for the department.
  • Support less experienced project managers, enabling their growth and development with activities such as mentoring, coaching sessions, and team development workshops.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic/vocational qualification.
  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 2+ years).
  • Strong knowledge of project management standards and practices, with a minimum of 1-2 years' experience managing projects in the area of talent development.
  • Technical writing proficiency, experience writing award applications and Requests for Proposal (RFP) preferred.
  • Basic consultancy skills.
  • Good computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, Office 365 tools, and SharePoint, experience with resource management and PM tools preferred.
  • Effective ability to query, compile, enter, track, and maintain data and records management systems.
  • Fundamental ability to translate issues into actionable business solutions.
  • Close attention to detail and strong organizational skills to deliver high-quality work within project timelines.
  • Effective ability to deliver solutions in a collaborative and cross-functional global environment, with an understanding of user perspective.
  • Effective oral presentation and written communication skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Frequently stationary for 6-8 hours per day.
  • Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.
  • Frequent mobility required.
  • Occasional crouching, stooping, bending, and twisting of upper body and neck.
  • Light to moderate lifting and carrying (or otherwise moves) objects including luggage and laptop computer with a maximum lift of 15-20 lbs.
  • Ability to access and use a variety of computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelf.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
  • Frequently interacts with others to obtain or relate information to diverse groups.
  • Works independently with little guidance or reliance on oral or written instructions and plans work schedules to meet goals.
  • Requires multiple periods of intense concentration.
  • Performs a wide range of variable tasks as dictated by variable demands and changing conditions with little predictability as to the occurrence. Ability to perform under stress. Ability to multitask.
