Job Summary

Citi is seeking a highly experienced Technology Manager to lead our Equities Technology team. As a key member of our Technology organization, you will be responsible for managing a team of professionals to deliver strategic technology solutions that drive business growth and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple teams of professionals to accomplish established goals and conduct personnel duties for the team.
  • Provide strategic influence and exercise control over resources, budget management, and planning while monitoring end results.
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of concepts and procedures within own area and basic knowledge of other areas to resolve issues.
  • Ensure essential procedures are followed and contribute to defining standards.
  • Provide evaluative judgement based on analysis of facts in complicated, unique, and dynamic situations, including drawing from internal and external sources.
  • Influence and negotiate with senior leaders across functions, as well as communicate with external parties as necessary.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in technology management.
  • Experience in managing global technology teams.
  • Working knowledge of industry practices and standards.
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
  • Master's degree preferred.

As a Technology Manager, you will have the opportunity to work with a team of technology professionals to clearly define and execute the strategy for improvements in the Equities Technological Platform. This role will be highly visible and brings with it exposure to senior management in the equities business as well as securities Tech.

Knowledge/Experience

  • 10+ years in people management.
  • Knowledge of FIX and familiarity with any fix engine.
  • Knowledge of Market Data and feed engines for multicast distribution.
  • Technical Skills to oversight the team and implemented solutions: Core Java, Swing, Spring, JMS, JDBC, RMI,.Net, SQL Server, TIBCO, SOLACE, OHS, WEBLOGIC.

Essential Skills

  • Strong Analytical skills.
  • 15+ years of software development experience.
  • Knowledge of the Mexican Markets and local regulations applicable to Equities operations.
  • In-depth understanding of end-to-end Brokerage Hose operation: Front - Middle - Back.
  • Ability to multi-task & liaise with business, tech teams & other developers.

Competencies

  • Self-starter, able to work closely and lead virtual teams, including external consultants. Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Relevant experience managing complex technology high stakes projects for the business in question, with a demonstrable successful delivery record.
  • Must be knowledgeable of the legal framework around the Equities and Equities Derivatives businesses.
  • Must be knowledgeable on operational framework for Equities and Equities Derivatives.
  • Strong communication skills and conflict resolution and negotiation skills are required.
  • Bilingual English-Spanish required.
  • BS/BA on Computer Science or Information Technology.
  • Excellent Analysis & Problem Solving abilities to Identifies the key issues in situations, analyses the data, recognizes the root cause of problems and generates successful solutions.
  • Excellent technical writing skills. Position requires communicating with other shared services team members, technology delivery teams and business users.
