Autozone Labor Relations Specialist Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Labor Relations Specialist to join our team at Autozone. This key role will be responsible for implementing, interpreting, and administering labor policies and practices related to employee disputes, grievances, union relations, and management strategies.
Job Responsibilities:
- The ideal candidate will advise management on changes in federal and state labor laws, ensuring company compliance and providing updates on relevant regulations, rulings, and practices.
- Oversee labor relations issues across Stores, CAT, and DC, providing coaching to HR and management on involuntary employee terminations and disciplinary actions with potential financial exposure.
- Coordinate with external labor counsel to prepare necessary documentation for disputed termination cases, ensuring timely and effective administration of collective bargaining agreements.
- Analyze labor-related cases, trends, and costs, tracking and reporting HR-related investigations and the DMII process.
- Maintain relationships and communicate effectively with third-party representatives and lead external labor counsel, minimizing company exposure to financial loss or business interruption due to labor-related issues.
- Prepare required documentation to respond to labor-related federal, state, local, and internal audits, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and internal record retention requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent in Human Resources, Law, Industrial Psychology, or Business Administration.
- More than seven years of experience in settling disputed termination cases before labor boards, negotiating and administering collective bargaining agreements, and settling union organization campaigns and strike threats.
Estimated Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000 per year
