MSCI Inc. is seeking a highly skilled IT Quality and Governance Manager to join our Data Services & Technology team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of our technology internal control framework, ensuring robust infrastructure IT general and application controls for business reliance to ensure complete and accurate financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Implement Technology Internal Control Framework: Develop and implement a comprehensive technology internal control framework to ensure robust infrastructure IT general and application controls for business reliance.
- Collaborate with Control Owners and Stakeholders: Collaborate with control owners, internal audit, and external audit throughout annual SOX planning and scoping, control execution and testing, and issue management.
- Prepare and Support Control Owners: Prepare and support control owners through the SOX program lifecycle, including regular risk assessments, walkthroughs, evidence collection, and control rationalization.
- Coordinate and Collaborate with Internal Audit: Coordinate and collaborate with internal audit throughout IT and operational audits to ensure scoping focuses on the areas of greatest risk, key stakeholder identification, testing supervision, and management action plan identification for proper remediation.
- SOX Control Deficiencies and Operational Audit Issue Reporting and Management: Identify and report SOX control deficiencies and operational audit issues, and manage remediation efforts to ensure successful and timely resolution.
- Perform Management Testing of SOX Controls: Perform management testing of SOX controls to ensure controls are designed and operating effectively and issues are proactively identified prior to audit testing.
- Oversee Compliance with Policies: Oversee compliance with policies to ensure critical processes are continuously reassessed for continued compliance with MSCI's standard policies, procedures, and standards.
- Engage in Critical Ongoing Stakeholder Initiatives: Continuously and proactively engage in critical ongoing stakeholder initiatives to advise on the impacts to existing SOX processes and controls, as well as design new controls to ensure audit readiness.
- Act as a Trusted Risk Advisor: Act as a trusted risk advisor and support IT leadership in preparing for audit and risk committee meetings and other regulatory engagements.
- Educate Team Members: Educate team members on best practices for proper control execution, process design, and audit evidence.
- Contribute to Special Projects: Contribute to and support special projects, including mergers and acquisition integrations and drive technology transformation projects.
- Oversight and Coordination of Enterprise Regulatory Governance Quality Management Program: Oversight and coordination of the enterprise regulatory governance quality management program across key compliance programs (e.g., SOX, SOC1/SOC2, ISO27001, BMR & ESG) through the adoption of frameworks, standardization, and tooling.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, or other relevant field (certifications including CISA, CIA, and/or CPA a plus).
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience as a technology auditor or information technology professional.
- Preferred Experience: Preferred experience at a public accounting or professional services firm.
- Skills and Knowledge: Deep knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, IT application and general controls, and issue management requirements.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of user access, change management, software development, system architecture, databases, and operating systems.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong presentation and negotiation skills, and proven track record of effectively building relationships with technology and business partners.
- Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills, and an innovative and solutions-oriented approach to unstructured tasks and initiatives.
