Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement effective media relations strategies to secure media placements and promote key company achievements.
- Manage crisis communications and serve as the primary media contact for the organization.
- Partner with government affairs teams to craft communications around policy development and increase patient access to life-saving therapies.
- Develop strategic messaging and thought leadership initiatives to showcase company expertise and innovation.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to identify opportunities for public affairs strategies that drive business impact.
- Work closely with employee-led community engagement teams, government affairs, and medical affairs to build relationships with critical partners, advocates, NGOs, and academics.
- Provide strategic counsel to local leadership teams on communications issues and opportunities.
- Develop guidelines and approaches to support safe, ethical, and compliant communications and public engagement.
- Manage PR agencies and vendors to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- University degree or equivalent experience in Communications, Journalism, Public Affairs, or relevant field.
- Minimum five years of experience in Corporate Communications, preferably in the pharma or medical technology industry and/or public relations agency.
- Experience in social media strategy and management.
- Fluent Spanish (written and verbal) and proficient English (written and verbal). Conversational Portuguese a plus, but not required.
- Experience handling product-related issues in a highly regulated environment.
- Experience in media crisis management.
- Strong writing skills for various content types, channels, and topics.
- Proficient in presentation design concepts and tools.
- Strategic thinker with ability to balance short- and long-term priorities.
- Proactive attitude and familiar with working in a matrix environment and handling multiple stakeholders.
- Connections with local/regional media outlets preferred.
