Senior Operations Supervisor

**Job Summary**

This role is responsible for leading and supervising the safety and quality work of unionized craftsmen on service tracks, roads, and yards. The successful candidate will ensure daily and scheduled inspections are conducted in accordance with company workscopes and government regulations.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Supervise unionized craftsmen in the execution of locomotive daily inspections and scheduled inspections.
  • Manage the daily inspection center and service track personnel, equipment, and installations.
  • Prepare locomotive consist sets in accordance with the strategic Transportation Service Plan.
  • Coordinate with the Transportation MLU and CCO departments.
  • Ensure proper inventory levels of diesel fuel, lube oil, sand, and water.
  • Manage warehouse inventory parts for locomotive inspections and repairs.
  • Coordinate with local Transportation staff and NOC, MLU, and MAC desk for locomotive failures and scheduled inspection programs.
  • Attend SCT verification visits.
  • Develop and retain a strong team of high performers.

**Requirements**

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum two years of relevant operations experience.

**Preferred Qualifications**

  • Medium command of English.
  • Mechanics, electricity, and pneumatic knowledge.
  • People management skills.
  • Basic railroad knowledge.
  • Basic computer system usage.

**Working Conditions**

  • Shift work is an essential function of this job.
  • Employees must have the ability and willingness to support critically important railroad operations 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
