About the Role:

Uber is seeking a seasoned operations specialist to join our Mexico Rides Regulatory Operations team. If you excel at scaling processes, managing complex projects, and driving operational efficiency, this role is for you. You will be responsible for making processes more efficient and automated while engaging with stakeholders to deliver on key business goals that ensure regulatory compliance and unlock growth.

The Regulatory Operations Team:

The team is responsible for owning, executing, and shaping the overall compliance strategy for Mexico. Our goal is to ensure safety on Uber's platform, drive strategy and compliance with regulatory-related requirements, create efficiency, and add automation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work on business-critical regulatory and compliance processes to ensure we meet our legal obligations, including reporting, payments, and audits.
  • Own functional business strategies as well as local market strategies, and be responsible for monitoring, correcting, and implementing business processes.
  • Identify business priorities such as growth opportunities or operational weaknesses and help drive the team's strategy and improve or manage processes.
  • Develop analytical frameworks to support the company in business decision-making.
  • This role demands strong partner and project management skills, as well as the ability to both plan and implement projects of varying time horizons and scope with minimal mentorship.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • At least 2 years of proven experience.
  • Experience in strategy, consulting, business intelligence, or related experience.
  • Data-first problem solver with excellent Excel/data management and some SQL experience. Python is a plus.
  • 2-4 years of demonstrated experience in regulatory compliance, risk management, or audit management. High-growth operations, tech, or startup experience is strongly preferred.
  • Outstanding and clear communicator; You are a clear and concise communicator with the ability to synthesize a lot of information quickly, highlight the meaningful points, and disseminate actionable insights.
  • Self-motivated works well independently, and possesses strong organization and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated decision-making skill. You think critically about all angles of a problem, digging in deeper where needed, and make thoughtful long-term decisions.
  • Strategic planning. You break down broad problems to create prioritized forward-thinking action plans.
  • Comfort with ambiguity. You are unfazed by executing on projects where all the information is not always available and priorities can change as more data comes to bear.
