Cybersecurity Operations Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Security Analyst to join our cybersecurity team at Nearshore Cyber. As a Senior Security Analyst, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing security operations, conducting advanced threat analysis, and leading incident response efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee security operations, including monitoring security events, incidents, and alerts using advanced security tools and technologies.
- Conduct advanced threat analysis, including in-depth analysis of security incidents, to determine the root cause, scope, and potential impact on the organization's infrastructure and data.
- Lead and coordinate incident response efforts for security incidents, ensuring timely resolution and containment of security breaches.
- Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior security analysts, assisting in their professional development.
- Collaborate with other cybersecurity teams to investigate and respond to security incidents, conducting thorough investigations and forensic analysis when necessary.
- Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability assessments, and penetration tests to identify and address security gaps in the organization's infrastructure.
- Stay updated with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies, and provide recommendations for security enhancements based on industry best practices.
- Develop and deliver comprehensive reports and presentations to senior management and stakeholders, providing insights into the organization's security posture.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- 3 to 7 years of experience in a cybersecurity role, with a focus on security operations and incident response.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols, operating systems, and security technologies.
- Experience with security monitoring tools such as SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems, IDS/IPS (Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems), and endpoint protection platforms.
- Understanding of security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls.
- Proven experience in incident response procedures, methodologies, and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to assess and prioritize security risks.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), or GCIH (GIAC Certified Incident Handler) are desirable.
