Cybersecurity Operations Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Junior Security Analyst to join our cybersecurity team at Nearshore Cyber. As a Junior Security Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting security operations, monitoring security events, and assisting in incident response activities.
Responsibilities:- Monitor security events and alerts using security tools and technologies, identifying potential security incidents and escalating them to the appropriate teams.
- Assist in incident response activities, including initial investigation, containment, and remediation of security incidents.
- Conduct regular security log analysis, vulnerability assessments, and network traffic monitoring to identify potential security vulnerabilities or anomalies.
- Assist in the development and implementation of security policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of security operations processes, tools, and technologies.
- Stay updated with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and industry developments, and actively participate in professional development activities to expand knowledge and skills.
- Collaborate with senior security analysts and other cybersecurity teams to investigate and respond to security incidents, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing the impact on business operations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of security incidents, investigation findings, and remediation steps.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in a cybersecurity role, preferably in a security operations center (SOC) or a similar environment.
- Basic knowledge of networking protocols, operating systems, and security technologies.
- Familiarity with security monitoring tools such as SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems, IDS/IPS (Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems), and endpoint protection platforms.
- Understanding of security incident response procedures and best practices.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly assess and prioritize security risks.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
