Risk Manager, Compliance, Amazon LATAM

The Regulatory Intelligence and Safety Compliance (RISC) team in LATAM is seeking a Risk Manager to lead Product and food safety controls aimed at protecting our customers from unsafe products.
This role is responsible for creating, driving, and maintaining a roadmap of risk controls across business, legal, compliance, operations, tech, and other cross-functional teams globally. This role owns program-level metrics and ensures success by leading risk initiatives, prioritization discussions, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain key relationships with internal stakeholders locally and around the world, particularly teams focused on Product and Food safety controls.
- Identify and monitor key operational risk areas, define and benchmark risk indicators, ascertain risk thresholds, review processes' health, and engage with stakeholders to drive risk mitigation.
- Drive ingestion of compliance needs, design initiatives, and partner with program teams to launch controls.
- Identify and lead improvement projects, eliminating excess processes, driving efficiencies, and creating predictable process controls and processes (including automated tools and systems) to support improving state of compliance, business expansion, and program efficiency.
- Design success metrics/goals and report out on progress, obstacles, and path to resolution to cross-functional leadership.
- Convert team knowledge into scalable standard operating procedures, establish swim lanes across a diversifying and quickly-changing organization, and reduce complex workflows to aligned RACIs and approval mechanisms.

The Risk Manager is a key driver of Amazon's compliance programs for food and products. The role works across multiple global stakeholders, including operations and tech, to drive a large portfolio of key deliverables that are tracked at an executive level.

Minimum Qualifications- 4+ years of compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent experience.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- Experience handling confidential information.
- 3+ years of program requirements definition and data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements experience.
- Professional auditing qualification, or similar risk or compliance credentials.
- Experience with SQL and Excel.
