Job Summary
We are seeking a talented Cook to join our team at Marriott International, Inc. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist. You will also assist in maintaining food logs, monitoring the quality and quantity of food, and communicating assistance needed during busy periods.
Responsibilities
- Prepare special meals or substitute items
- Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters
- Pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator
- Ensure proper portion, arrangement, and food garnish
- Maintain food logs
- Monitor the quality and quantity of food
- Communicate assistance needed during busy periods
- Inform Chef of excess food items for use in daily specials
- Inform Food & Beverage service staff of menu specials and out of stock menu items
Requirements
- At least 3 years of related work experience
- Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree
- Ability to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time
- Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
- Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance
