Job Summary

The Purchasing Analyst will deliver analytical support to the Procurement team, connecting their activities to the financial outcomes reflected in the Profit and Loss statement. This role is essential for providing insights and analyses regarding the impact of material costs on the financial performance of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct analysis on inflation/deflation trends, track material cost reductions, and report on total cost savings while managing material costs in throughput analysis.
  • Offer critical insights and evaluations regarding the implications of material costs.
  • Ensure effective internal controls are maintained and all reporting obligations are fulfilled.
  • Proactively seek opportunities for process enhancements and implement best practices throughout the organization.
  • Update the purchasing database, prepare month-end reports, and manage corporate and business schedules, including material cost reconciliations.
  • Monitor supplier rebate agreements, perform monthly accruals and analyses, and communicate impacts to facilitate alignment with material cost activities.
  • Provide timely and precise updates on material inflation and cost reduction initiatives to support the forecasting process, maintaining a focus on a 12-month outlook.
  • Assist with ad-hoc analyses as needed, engaging in continuous improvement and process optimization efforts.
  • Support internal and external audits as well as SOX compliance testing.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • 4 to 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong analytical and organizational capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in using computers and related software for purchasing analysis tasks, including spreadsheet formulas and data extraction.
  • Ability to design and maintain tables, formulas, graphs, and macros in word processing software, as well as set up tables and reports in database programs.
  • Familiarity with research methodologies and the ability to prepare comprehensive reports that present complex financial and statistical data clearly.
  • Skill in effectively communicating complex concepts both orally and in writing, with the ability to present to diverse audiences.
