Patient Service Representative

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our team at Capital Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support.
Key Responsibilities- Answer patient calls promptly and efficiently, routing them to the appropriate area or individual.
- Schedule and cancel appointments, ensuring compliance with established office guidelines.
- Prepare patient charts and paperwork, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Provide a warm and welcoming experience for patients and visitors, informing them of privacy policies and procedures.
- Perform registration, ensuring demographic and insurance information is accurate and complete.
- Collect co-payments and outstanding balances, referring patients to CBO staff as needed.
- Review and comply with Patient Account Notes and Appointment Notes, accepting accountability for assigned worklists.
- Confirm charges and approve claim creations, validating and submitting claims for real-time adjudication.
- Schedule follow-up appointments, create appointment ticklers, and work associated worklists.
- Complete referrals and pre-authorizations as required.
- Perform clerical duties, including processing mail, confirming appointments, and maintaining statistics.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- One year experience as a receptionist or clerk in a healthcare environment or one year customer service experience.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD-10, and CPT codes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Medical assistant or medical office technician certification preferred.
