About the Role

As a Cloud Operations Manager, AWS Managed Services, you will be responsible for leading the cloud operations team and ensuring the smooth operation of our cloud infrastructure. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to improve operational practices and ensure that our customers receive world-class support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and Execute Business Priorities: Define strategic goals for the team, plan and document key projects and initiatives, and track progress against goals to ensure the team remains focused and unblocked.
  • Team and Performance Development: Manage the performance and career development of team members, mentor them to maintain a well-rounded and world-class organization.
  • Operational Excellence: Uphold and drive operational excellence across the site and globally, identifying and owning local and global initiatives to optimize our customer-focused operational teams.
  • Recruiting and Hiring: Participate in the recruitment and hiring process to build a high-performing team.
  • Customer Advocacy: Be the voice of the customer, working with internal AWS resources to ensure customer SLAs are met, and raise internal awareness of customer-impacting bugs and issues.

Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years of team management experience
  • Experience in managed service providers, managing IT environments on behalf of customers
  • Technical background and working knowledge of protocols (HTTP, DNS, and TCP/IP) and cloud service offerings (AWS, Azure, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, within technical and business settings
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA in an engineering or IT-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Experience as a systems administrator or software development engineer, with experience in Web services, systems administration (Linux and/or Windows), Networking, Java, Perl, Ruby, and Python
