About This Role

We are seeking a skilled Supplier Development Engineer to join our Global Supplier Management Group in Mexico.


Job Summary

As a Supplier Development (SD) Engineer, you will apply world-class problem-solving skills to reduce risks to quality and delivery across our global supply network.


Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate potential suppliers against defined criteria to ensure selection of partners who can meet our business requirements.
  • Develop mitigation plans to address gaps and risks found during supplier selection and manage resolution of those plans.
  • Evaluate and ensure alignment between our company and supplier specifications to avoid future deviations and supply issues.
  • Drive improvements in supplier performance and capabilities while collaborating with Global / Regional Procurement, Centers of Excellence (COEs), and Site Operation teams.
  • Facilitate overall process improvements to prevent supplier issues.
  • Develop metrics and scorecards to monitor supplier operational performance.
  • Coordinate, communicate and oversee general and technical matters pertaining to suppliers.
  • Maintain flexibility to travel, up to 50%, within the region, country and internationally to supplier/stakeholder locations.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree in Engineering, Science or Business.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality, Technical, Manufacturing/Packaging or Business Operations.
  • Experience applying data analytics to solve problems.
  • Demonstrated success working independently with all levels of the organization to get results, while fostering collaboration and maintaining a customer-focused mindset.
  • Appreciation and respect for diversity of thought and inclusion.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent demonstrated process improvement experience.
  • Knowledge of cGxPs and pharmaceutical / life science operations.
  • Functional knowledge in key areas of indirect sourcing and/or manufacturing/packaging operations including: Warehouse, Distribution and Transportation, Companion Diagnostics / Bio-markers, Thermal Protection Systems, Patient Support Programs, IT Services, Site Services / Facilities management, Manufacture and/or use of glass primary packaging containers for pharmaceuticals (e.g. vials, syringes).
  • 50% of the time open to travel.
