This role will be responsible for managing a regional ethics and compliance team, providing training, policy development, internal investigations, and risk management.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the implementation of the company's ethics and compliance activities in the region
- Manage a regional ethics and compliance team, including training, policy development, and internal investigations
- Provide regular updates to executive management on the performance of the function, including metrics tied to regional performance and compensation
- Advise regional management on regulatory developments and mitigation of ethics and compliance risks
- Manage and coordinate risk assessment activities, including corruption, competition, reputational, and other risks
- Review and adapt company-wide ethics and compliance training, policies, procedures, and guidelines to the region
- Participate in regional decision-making for project approvals and due diligence
- Receive and evaluate allegations of misconduct, manage investigations, and make recommendations to management
- Monitor the attainment of quantitative objectives for ethics and compliance controls, training, etc.
Requirements
- Academic degree (or equivalent)
- 10 or more years of experience in an ethics, compliance, audit, finance, or legal function
- Fluent in English and Spanish
- Experience from an international company
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Knowledge of anti-corruption, fair competition, anti-money-laundering, sanctions, and human-rights-protection regimes
- Experience developing and conducting training, implementing policies and procedures, and handling complex compliance issues or investigations
- Experience engaging with stakeholders at executive seniority level
- Good knowledge of ethics and compliance function best practices
