Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Housekeeping Specialist to join our team at Marriott International, Inc. As a key member of our housekeeping department, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in our public and employee areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain public and employee restrooms and showers to ensure a clean and hygienic environment for our guests and employees.
  • Clean glass surfaces in public and employee areas to maintain a sparkling and clean appearance.
  • Clean floor surfaces in public or employee space using designated chemicals, supplies, and equipment to ensure a safe and clean environment.
  • Dust surfaces in assigned areas to maintain a clean and dust-free environment.
  • Empty trash containers, ashtrays, and ash urns in public areas into proper containers to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Inspect condition of furniture for tears, rips, and stains and report damages to ensure that our facilities are well-maintained.
  • Clean and maintain lights to ensure a safe and well-lit environment.
  • Post caution signs to limit traffic when necessary to ensure guest and employee safety.
  • Contact other departments directly for urgent repairs to ensure prompt attention to maintenance issues.
  • Respond promptly to requests from guests and other departments to provide excellent customer service.
  • Identify and report preventative or other maintenance issues in public areas or guest rooms to ensure that our facilities are well-maintained.

Requirements

  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures to ensure a safe and secure environment.
  • Report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries to ensure prompt attention to issues.
  • Complete safety training and certifications to ensure that you are equipped to handle emergency situations.
  • Properly store flammable materials to ensure a safe and secure environment.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional to maintain a positive image for Marriott International, Inc.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards to provide excellent customer service.
  • Anticipate and address guests' service needs to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Assist individuals with disabilities to ensure that our facilities are accessible to all.
  • Thank guests with genuine appreciation to provide excellent customer service.
  • Speak with others using clear and professional language to maintain a positive and respectful work environment.
  • Support team to reach common goals to ensure that we are working together to achieve our objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards to maintain a high level of quality in our facilities.
  • Move, lift, carry, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 55 pounds without assistance and in excess of 55 pounds with assistance to ensure that you are physically able to perform the duties of the job.
  • Ability to push and pull work-related machinery over sloping and uneven surfaces to ensure that you are able to perform the duties of the job.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping to ensure that you are able to perform the duties of the job.
  • Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines (e.g., to identify defects) to ensure that you are able to perform the duties of the job.
  • Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination to ensure that you are able to perform the duties of the job.
  • Move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces to ensure that you are able to perform the duties of the job.
  • Move up and down a ladder to ensure that you are able to perform the duties of the job.
  • Stand, sit, kneel, or walk for an extended period across an entire work shift to ensure that you are able to perform the duties of the job.
