Main Responsibilities- Strategic Planning and Analysis: Establish, analyze, and supervise policies, procedures, and metrics to ensure the competitiveness of aggregates and raw materials operative assets and reserves throughout their complete lifecycle.
- Expertise Network Coordination: Organize and coordinate the necessary expertise networks related to production, maintenance, and quality control for quarries, facilitating the swift movement of relevant knowledge across the company.
- Operational Needs Analysis: Analyze and coordinate the quarries operations needs, including human resources, development programs, safety training, equipment, and software, to conduct company-wide actions to solve them.
- Reserves Planning and Management: Establish and coordinate global policies and guidelines aimed at ensuring reserves planning, exploration, exploitation, and site reclamation, complying with all legal requirements.
- Technology Evaluation and Selection: Direct technology evaluation efforts in the company for mining and aggregates processing, establishing acceptable technologies and suppliers.
- Technology Investment Planning: Formulate technology investment plans to be proposed to the Operations for their 3-year plans.
- Global Initiatives Development: Develop and coordinate global initiatives to support the operations enhance efficiency, maintenance availability, quality, and management.
- Metrics Analysis and Selection: Define and analyze metrics of production, maintenance, and quality technology, and selection of technology for CAPEX above US $1.0 million.
- Technology Approval: Approve technology selection for aggregates-related CAPEX between US $ million.
- Initiative Development and Analysis: Define and analyze metrics of initiatives potential for launching them CEMEX worldwide.
- Quarry Audits: Conduct periodical audits of aggregate and raw materials quarries from technical, environmental, and legal perspectives.
- Developing a Global Network: Develop and coordinate a global network from scratch for a business that perceives itself as local.
- Establishing a Contact Point: Establish an acknowledged contact point for all aggregates and mining business units in the company.
- Gaining Expert Recognition: Achieve peers recognition as an expert in geology, mining, and aggregates processing.
- Navigating a Multicultural Environment: Multicultural environment and different local construction culture makes harder to develop a global approach.
- Education and Experience: Bachelor and Masters in Geology, Mining, Engineering, Administration, with 8-10 years in Quarry Operations and 3-5 years in Corporate Management.
- Technical Skills: Formal and informal recognition as aggregate and mining expert, technical savvy in aggregate and mining technology, deep understanding of geology, mining, crushing, classifying, washing, loading, transport, deep knowledge of aggregates quality and the aggregates, cement, and admixtures interactions, mining and aggregates operations management experience, cement, admixtures, and ready mix knowledge at proficiency level.
- Strategic and Analytical Thinking: Ability to define and solve multi-variable problems, structured & analytical, being capable of detecting relevant facts for integral problem solving, ability to work effectively with others to accomplish common goals.
