About This Role

Db Schenker is seeking a skilled Ocean Billing Operations Specialist to join our team. As an Ocean Billing Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for managing carrier invoice statements, analyzing financial information, and ensuring accurate billing and cost control.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive, analyze, and register invoices and/or credits related to operating costs, maintaining control over all registered items in the system.
  • Analyze and evaluate revenue and cost reserves displayed in TANGO, changing the cost control status to "Checked" as needed, and reporting any discrepancies to the operations team.
  • Manage carrier invoice statements to generate timely payments, preventing stopped credit lines with carriers, and running cost control reports to detect open carrier cost reserves.
  • Monitor financial information in TANGO, avoiding gross profit variations, and identifying potential operational file closure KPIs.
  • Identify and follow up on possible billing omissions or shipments without billing to avoid financial losses.
  • Analyze shipments with negative profit, reporting findings to the operations team to prevent or confirm losses.
  • Evaluate "Finished" shipments to determine if they can be closed, following up on "reopen" status shipments, and re-analyzing them with new cost reserves as needed.
  • Follow up on exchange rate variances related to recorded costs, re-invoicing, and invoice cancellations.
  • Eliminate unnecessary cost reserves in TANGO, analyzing their reason and involving the Operations team if necessary.
Requirements:
  • Proficient in business English for frequent communication with internal and external parties.
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles.
  • TANGO experience is preferred but not required.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, or Administration.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet project timelines.
  • Strong MS Office aptitude, including Outlook, Excel, and Teams.
What We Offer:

We offer a competitive salary range of $17,000 - $20,000 per month, depending on location and experience.

Work Environment:

This role offers a hybrid remote work arrangement in Querétaro, Qro., Mexico.
