About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Chef to join our team at the JW Marriott Cancun Resort & Spa in Mexico. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits package.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing ingredients for cooking, portioning, chopping, and storing food. They will also wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables, weigh and measure ingredients, and prepare and cook food according to recipes and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food.
  • Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables.
  • Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients.
  • Prepare and cook food according to recipes and quality standards.
  • Test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently.
  • Monitor food quality while preparing food.
  • Serve food in proper portions onto proper receptacles.
  • Wash and disinfect kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of related work experience. You should also be able to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift, and move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.

Estimated Salary: $40,000 - $60,000 per year

This estimate is based on national averages in Mexico for a similar position and may vary depending on individual circumstances.
