As a key member of Fortra's Corporate Security Operations Center (SOC) team, the Security Analyst plays a critical role in protecting the organization and its assets from cyber threats. This hands-on position requires a strong understanding of cybersecurity controls and processes, as well as the ability to identify and respond to threats in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities- Threat Detection and Response: Investigate alerts or suspicious activity from various notification and monitoring platforms and respond to threats in a timely and effective manner.
- Monitoring and Response Capabilities: Work on improving monitoring and response capabilities in AWS and Azure environments to ensure the security and integrity of Fortra's multi-platform infrastructure.
- Security Issue Escalation: Act as the initial escalation point for security issues and work with the Operations team to assess security infrastructure, network, and systems design to evaluate and verify system/network security.
- Security Controls and Procedures: Execute procedures and scheduled security tasks efficiently and effectively, and work alongside cloud operations teams to implement new or improve existing security controls and procedures.
- Collaboration and Communication: Liaise and maintain appropriate relationships with internal teams, support knowledge sharing across the organization, and ensure that processes and projects meet internal and external security policies and standards.
- User Access and Security: Oversee user access process to key cloud services to ensure operational integrity of the system.
- Education and Certifications: Ideally educated to a degree level in Cyber Security or Computer Science or equivalent certifications, such as Sec+, GSEC, SSCP, or one of the AWS or Azure Security Engineering certifications.
- Experience and Skills: 3+ years background in SOC roles, experience in using XDR tools and SIEMs, ability to seek and understand security needs and research possible solutions, knowledge of IAM, network-, and cloud- technologies, Windows & Linux operating systems, analysis and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail, and collaborative team member with great communication and interpersonal skills.
