Position Overview

Olympus Corporation of the Americas (OCA) is a distributor of a comprehensive array of medical and surgical instruments utilized for diagnosing and treating various health conditions. OCA is committed to educating healthcare professionals on the safe and effective use of these products through Professional Education courses, workshops, and training sessions. This role is pivotal in leveraging clinical knowledge to create and deliver educational content regarding the safe and effective application of Olympus products. Additionally, this position will act as a liaison to professional organizations to assess educational requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess unmet educational needs within the designated business unit by collaborating with healthcare professionals, marketing teams, and medical affairs to propose and develop new educational programs, materials, or other resources.
  • Identify new venues for courses/events, utilizing clinical insights and discussions with site faculty to determine suitable locations.
  • Support on-site courses to ensure compliance with labeling requirements and evaluate the event to identify areas for enhancement through feedback from faculty, participants, and Olympus colleagues.
  • Assist with clinical inquiries in accounts that could benefit from educational support on the safe and effective use of Olympus products, including in-service training programs.
  • Design and deliver educational presentations to accounts and professional organizations.
  • Establish and nurture a professional network of healthcare professionals founded on trust and respect.
  • Assist with Professional Education and Grant workshops as required.
  • Maintain expertise through ongoing communication and research, as well as discussions with other healthcare professionals.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • An Associate's degree is preferred.
  • With an Associate's degree, 8 years of clinical experience in a relevant Olympus field is required.
  • Without an Associate's degree, 10 years of clinical experience in a relevant Olympus field is required.

Skills:

  • Clinical expertise in either surgical or gastrointestinal medical fields, either as a technician or nurse.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Professional certification in a related field is preferred.

Other Considerations:

  • Must be flexible to work 1-2 weekends per month.
  • Must be available to travel approximately 75% of work time, primarily within the US, with potential international travel required. Ability to travel by airplane and operate a vehicle is necessary.
