Job Summary

Achieve optimum sales results in assigned geography/ customers/ or channels by effectively leading sales team and/or brokers. Develop and implement annual sales plans, direct sales forecasting activities and set performance goals accordingly. Understand customer profitability and spending trade effectiveness. Review market analyses to understand customer needs and develop solutions. Create vision and implementation plan for future strategic business plans. Responsible for staffing, training, development and performance management of sales team.

Position Responsibilities

  • Lead Joint Business Planning Model: two-three year strategic business planning, high level of internal business planning, need to effectively manage dedicated resources across the organization (i.e. Category Leadership, Shopper Insights, Shopper Marketing and Sales Finance.)
  • Accountable for delivering assigned targets as defined by companies strategic plan.
  • Leverage growth potential with customer to invest and grow strategic platforms. Lead strategic initiatives and build partnerships with customers.
  • Review and assess shipment reports, understand monthly/weekly/daily data, drive action when needed.
  • Evaluate market trends on a monthly basis to insure brands stay on track.
  • Take an active role in developing selling presentations along with strong participation in delivering the content and/or coaching team members.
  • Regular market visits to review store conditions and evaluate performance versus expectations.
  • Establish specific and measurable sales and merchandising objectives for the team. Develop ongoing tracking and assessment of key activities.
  • Plan short and long term ongoing assessment of business, brand and in-store activities.
  • Proven effective P&L management.

Position Qualifications

  • BS/BA in Business or related field required
  • years progressive sales experience including past supervisory experience.
  • CPG sales experience preferred.
  • Must have demonstrated sales management experience managing multiple product categories and customers.
  • Must have demonstrated knowledge of sales, trade, category management and shopper marketing activities, as well as, proven ability to apply them effectively in planning and execution.
  • Must have demonstrated using multiple data/information sources to develop sales strategies and tactics, as well as, effectively managing promotional activity and trade spending.
  • Matrix management and leadership experience. Ability to lead cross-functionally.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and influence at all levels across the organization and the customer
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Proficient PC and system skills.
