About the Role
SOMIC is looking for an experienced and entrepreneurial Area Sales Manager to drive its commercial growth in Mexico. This is a key role combining strategic market development with technical sales. The ideal candidate brings strong sales experience in capital equipment or packaging machinery, deep customer orientation, and the ability to collaborate closely with SOMIC's teams in Germany.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sales strategies for SOMIC's packaging machinery portfolio in Mexico.
- Acquire new clients and grow existing relationships, mainly in the food industry.
- Represent SOMIC at trade fairs (e.g. Expo Pack) and in the local market.
- Prepare offers and project documentation with SOMIC's technical teams in Germany.
- Analyze market trends and contribute to sales forecasting and budget planning.
Profile
- Education: Degree in Engineering or Business Mgmt. with strong technical understanding.
- Experience: 10–15 years in technical sales of capital goods, ideally in packaging, automation, or machinery.
- Proven experience working with European or German companies.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Languages:
- Spanish: Native or fluent
- English: Professional fluency
- German: Advantageous
- Based in Central Mexico, willing to travel frequently.
