The Customer Innovation Confetionery, Jams & Jellies (CI CJ&J) will play a crucial role in providing technical assistance and support to clients in the confectionary, jams, and jellies industry. Acting as a technical liaison, the incumbent will be responsible for effectively managing customer requests and opportunities, organizing customer visits to their facilities and to the Innovation Experience Center, and utilizing laboratory and pilot plant equipment to conduct trials and evaluate products. The role will involve understanding customer needs, anticipating new challenges, reviewing processes and formulations, making recommendations for cost savings, texture/process improvements, or product innovation, and leading necessary technical activities for concept development and application with multidisciplinary teams.

KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBIITIES

Act as a technical liaison for selected accounts, providing exemplary customer technical support, strengthening customer relationships, and providing customer experience. Organize and coordinate visits to customers and visits from customers at Innovation Center Experience, including planning trials, portfolio presentations, trainings, workshops, innovation days, etc. Utilize laboratory and pilot plant equipment to conduct trials with customer to show performance of solution. Review customer processes and formulations, making timely recommendations to meet customer needs for cost savings, texture/process improvements, or product innovation. Lead necessary technical activities to deliver concept developments and associated technical content demonstrating innovative ingredient functionality in identified sub-applications. Propose own ideas and utilize customer feedback for new concept development or improvements. Collaborate closely with Sales, MKT, Idea Labs to develop and execute technical strategies that drive business development. Build strong relationships at multiple levels within customer organizations to foster collaboration and partnership. Record and share relevant customer activities and project updates in designated knowledge management tools to facilitate knowledge sharing and management.

QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry or a related degree.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical support or application development within the food industry, preferably in confectionary, jams, or jellies. Strong understanding of food processing principles, ingredient functionality, and formulation. Experience in conducting trials and evaluations in laboratory, pilot & plant settings. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. Teamwork skills Willingness to travel as needed for customer visits and other business-related activities. Advanced english
