What will you do?

The role of Senior Payroll Administrator Mexico is part of the GFBS Finance team and will report to the Regional Payroll Manager Americas. The Senior Payroll Administrator is responsible for calculation and coordination of the weekly and bi-weekly payrolls for our Mexican entity in accordance with the Mexican legislation and internal guidelines. The Senior Payroll Administrator’s goal is to ensure personnel receives the correct compensation in a timely manner.

Tasks
  • Gather and process information for payroll movements, e.g. hours worked, absences, deductions, joiners/leavers/changes, as provided by the HR department.
  • Data entry and calculation of the correct amount incorporating overtime, deductions, bonuses etc. with assistance of a payroll software tool and our payroll provider.
  • Monitor and process all types of advances and loans (savings, bonds, bonuses, utilities) for correct payroll deduction.
  • Preparation of IMSS contribution base salaries of employees and workers, to determine deductions via payroll, as well as to calculate the monthly IMSS settlement.
  • Prepare and process paychecks and bank deposits.
  • Prepare and submit all necessary paperwork for tax deductions, benefits and garnishments.
  • Maintain accurate records of payroll documentation and transactions.
  • Manage payment calendars for the fiscal year.
  • Prepare periodic reports for review by management.
  • Respond to payroll-related inquires and resolving concerns.
  • Report to management on payroll issues and changes.
  • Stay up-to-date on payroll/ tax laws and employment regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure SOX compliance for the payroll process and support audits on payroll procedures and records.
  • Develop a culture of continuous improvement, automation, digitization, adherence, and proactively propose enhancement to Global Standards .
Requirements
  • Public Accountant, BSc/BA in business, accounting or relevant field.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in payroll or a similar role.
  • Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and payroll best practices.
  • Experience working with accounting and payroll software.
  • Experience working in an international team.
  • Prior experience working for a public company with US GAAP and SOX requirements strongly preferred.
  • Familiar with ADP and/or Workday, JDE preferred, not required.
