ProTrans International, Inc.**Job Description**:**Job Title**: Accounts Payable SpecialistSUMMARYAs a team member, helps to process carrier invoices in a timely manner, handle payable calls and problem solving related to carrier invoice issues.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAudit freight bills against shipment details and Carrier Rate Tariffs. Also communicates any discrepancies in a timely manner to the Carrier and our Operations department when necessary.Process assigned carrier invoices in timely manner by auditing and making sure allocation is correct.Answer vendor calls communicating all vital information to the team leader immediately.Complete batching, posting and filing of all carrier invoices on a daily basis.Maintain statements to manage open invoices and document issues.Communicate with carrier as needed to obtain corrections.Provide support for front desk phone system.Provide check remittance information and invoice status to carriers.Review exceptions from our third-party processing company and provide support necessary to complete the processing of an invoice.Identify and implement continual improvement initiatives to enhance the performance of the position, your team and the company.Other duties may be assigned.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Strong computer skills are also necessary.LANGUAGE SKILLSEmployees in this position must have excellent impersonal and communication skills that contribute to a team environment.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSMath skills are required to audit freight bills and verify rates.REASONING ABILITYIt is necessary in this position to have the ability to set priorities. Accounts Payable Specialist must be able to make sound decisions using good judgment.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions for this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.The position requires the physical ability to speak on the phone and work on a computer for several hours at a time. There is the need for filing, bending, stooping,reaching, and lifting boxes up to 30 lbs. General upkeep is required of the personal workspace and department area. It may be necessary to climb and descend stairs daily and evacuate the building in case of emergency.Monday - Friday 8AM - 5:00PM
