Fractional Chief Technology Officer

Position Summary

You will be an important member of various teams across multiple startups and small businesses. As a fractional CTO, you will define and direct the technology strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals. You will oversee development teams, design system architectures, and promote innovation and continuous improvement. Your role includes mentoring junior engineers and working closely with other senior leaders to deploy new services and maintain cloud infrastructure.

Requirements

Must Haves:

● Strong ability to communicate in English (Professional English proficiency)

● 8+ years of professional experience in software development and technical leadership

● Extensive experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)

● Proven track record in defining and implementing technology strategies

● Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)

● Strong background in distributed systems and microservice architecture

● Emphasis on secure development practices

● Experience with all phases of the product development lifecycle, including requirements definition, specifications, development, test, product release, and sustaining engineering

● Passion for good workflows, automation, and well-designed software

● Willingness to mentor other engineers and provide strategic guidance

Nice to haves:

● Experience with multiple programming languages and frameworks

● Proficient in DevOps practices, cybersecurity, and a fascination with AI

● Experience in a startup or fast-paced environment

You will:

● Work with diverse teams of engineers across different companies, assuming a high level of responsibility

● Define and implement technology strategies aligned with business goals

● Oversee the development and deployment of services, ensuring scalability, security, and efficiency

● Solve complex performance and architectural challenges

● Mentor junior engineers and provide leadership to technical teams

● Participate in strategic planning, code reviews, and stand-ups.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $77.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Experience:

  • AWS, Azure or Google Cloud: 7 years (Preferred)
  • Technical Leadership: 8 years (Preferred)
  • Technology management: 8 years (Preferred)
