HR Testing / Quality Assurance Lead

Location: Guadalajara SSC, Mexico

Reports to Program Manager, HR Digital Solutions, Vendor Management, Insights & Reporting Services

The HR Testing & QA Lead will be in charge of overseeing testing and quality assurance for HR applications and platforms at Ingredion. The focus will be on HR processes, workflow, data integrity, and application security. The ideal candidate should have significant expertise in core HR processes, major HRIS applications like Workday HCM and ServiceNow HRSD, and employee experience solutions. Collaboration with Global Process Owners, Solution Architects, the Continuous Improvement Team, and other GSS members will be key to supporting analysis, process/systems enhancement, upgrades, and data management.

This role will involve establishing/refining testing methodologies, standards, and tools/templates to ensure consistent testing of system changes and to enhance solution quality. It's a hands-on Lead position that will involve both hands-on testing of processes/systems and managing testing services delivery from team members.

Core Responsibilities

  • Define/refine HR testing methodology for HR processes and systems, including applications like Workday HCM, ServiceNow HRSD, and PowerBI.
  • Develop quality assurance standards, testing tools/templates for test planning, scenarios/scripts, issue management, and other testing activities.
  • Manage all testing activities on projects and operational solution improvements – involving test planning, resource/task allocation, testing services delivery, status updates, issue/risk management, and related tasks.
  • Collaborate with various HR, IT, Vendor, and GSS teams to plan and execute testing activities aligned with the Governance process.
  • Effectively manage resources to maximize utilization and align with plans, budgets, and timelines.
  • Work closely with GPOs, Solution Architects, and internal/external project team members to understand requirements and user stories; coach the testing team in outlining testing approaches, mapping test scenarios/cases, reviewing test scripts, managing testing data, and designing overall testing plans.
  • Identify opportunities for test automation, develop and implement automation scripts.
  • Lead various types of testing services delivery (function/system/user acceptance); perform hands-on testing when necessary.
  • Ensure quality of services delivery – review and approve team testing deliverables.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the testing team on best practices.
  • Coach and mentor team members in HR process and systems testing.
  • Act as the point of escalation for testing services delivery challenges; lead team members to address issues, meet services SLAs, and exceed performance expectations. Engage Sr. Management/Leadership teams as required.

Qualified Candidates should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in testing and quality assurance for software applications – covering process/systems testing, data/reports testing, audits, function testing, user acceptance testing, test planning, script writing, testing data setup, and issue tracking/management.
  • 1+ years of experience as an HR or software applications testing lead.
  • Multi-lingual fluency: Advanced English (Required) plus Spanish, Portuguese.
  • 3+ years of HRIS, HR Shared Services, or Operations experience; including knowledge of core HR processes/policies.
  • Experience in testing HR data/reports, defining data audits, and ensuring data quality.
  • Significant HR process knowledge in domains like Core HR, Employee Data Administration, Talent Management, Talent Acquisition, Compensation.
  • 2+ years of experience testing with modern HCM solutions such as Workday, Oracle, SAP HCM, ServiceNow HRSD.
  • 2+ years of Project Management experience – developing project plans/work plans, estimating work effort, reporting status, managing issues/risks, etc.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in a distributed global team environment.
  • Ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders – GPOs, Solution Architects, IT teams, Vendors, etc.
  • Proficiency in using HR technology and MS Office, especially MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Availability to work non-standard business hours in a global business environment.
  • HRIS Analyst or Testing experience with Workday HCM and ServiceNow.
  • HRIS Analyst or Testing experience on a new HCM platform implementation or major project(s).
  • Experience in leading/defining testing approaches to achieve positive employee experience outcomes.
  • Experience with automated testing tools, including developing automated test scripts.
  • Hands-on experience with Workday data entry and transaction processing, understanding data flow and system integrations.
  • Business Process Design and Change Management experience.
  • Customer service and team collaboration orientation.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Work ethic, integrity, and personal accountability.
