Area Sales Manager

Overview:
**Responsibilities**:
- Achieve exceptional sales results and market share growth for the assigned territory.
- Analyze and dissect the market as it relates to market share, penetration and growth opportunities and develop an annual strategic plan to meet sales targets and corporate objectives.
- Demonstrate financial acumen by creating sales growth programs and accompanying analyses to ensure profitable sales growth and sound business decision-making.
- Develop and maintain a project database and secure Rain Bird installations at strategic, high-value sites.
- Work closely with Marketing and assist the Agriculture Division in determining market needs, competitive information, and overall market trends.
- Differentiate Rain Bird from its competitors by providing superior customer service, high visibility to key accounts, and aggressive in-person sales call coverage.
- Implement novel approaches to accelerate Rain Bird’s influence with growers and corporate farming customers.
- Capability to become an accomplished leader that consistently achieves results and develops creative, customer-focused solutions to accelerate growth.
Qualifications:
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**:
- B.A. or B.S. Degree.
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
- 7+ years of sales experience and a proven track record of selling high-value products in Mexico.
- Excellent communication skills, written and oral, and general business skills.
- Strong negotiating skills and ability to sell to large accounts with multiple stakeholders.
- Motivated, results oriented, self starter eager to take ownership of job requirements.
- Aptitude for quantitative analysis, strategic thinking, and detailed planning.
- Must live within the assigned territory and embrace 70% or more overnight travel.
**DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS**:
- MBA or graduate degree.
- Experience with wholesale distribution, business to business sales, irrigation design and installation, or agricultural operations.
