**Reports To**: Director of IT Operations

**Position Overview**:
We are seeking an experienced **Network and Firewall Specialist** to join our technology team, responsible for ensuring the security, stability, and efficiency of our network infrastructure. As a critical member of our IT department, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to support our global media content operations, which span various countries and rely on secure, high-performance networks. Your role will be pivotal in securing media assets, ensuring reliable content delivery, and supporting a distributed workforce.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Network Design & Maintenance**: Design, configure, maintain, and monitor the company’s LAN, WAN, and cloud network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability for media content distribution and remote collaboration.
- **Firewall & Security Management**: Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot firewalls, VPNs, and other security appliances to protect the company’s digital assets and ensure compliance with industry-standard security protocols.
- **Traffic Optimization**: Implement traffic shaping, Quality of Service (QoS), and other techniques to prioritize media workflows and minimize latency, ensuring smooth streaming and data transfers for media production.
- **Threat Detection & Response**: Continuously monitor the network for security vulnerabilities and incidents, performing real-time analysis and working closely with the cybersecurity team to respond to any potential threats.
- **Access Control**: Establish and enforce network access policies for employees, contractors, and partners, ensuring that only authorized personnel can access sensitive media files and systems.
- **Collaboration Tools**: Support the deployment and maintenance of networking tools that enable seamless collaboration between geographically distributed teams, including content streaming, file sharing, and remote production environments.
- **Firewall Rule Auditing & Management**: Regularly audit firewall rules to ensure they align with company policies and best practices, performing necessary updates and optimization to maintain a secure environment.
- **Network Troubleshooting**: Investigate and resolve network performance issues, including latency, packet loss, and connectivity issues, ensuring mínimal downtime for critical production and content processing workflows.
- **Documentation & Reporting**: Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, changes, and incidents, providing regular reports to IT management and recommendations for improvement.
- **Compliance & Best Practices**: Ensure all network and firewall configurations comply with industry regulations, company security policies, and international data protection laws, such as GDPR and SOC 2.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in network administration, firewall management, and network security within a media or content distribution environment.
- Expertise in configuring and managing network hardware, including routers, switches, and firewalls (Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Fortinet, etc.).
- Proficiency with VPNs, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, MPLS, and other networking technologies.
- Experience with media content delivery protocols (e.g., RTP, RTMP, HLS) and ensuring reliable streaming across networks.
- Familiarity with cloud-based networking (AWS, Azure) and hybrid cloud environments.
- In-depth knowledge of security standards (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2) and tools (IDS/IPS, SIEM).
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced media production environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially with cross-functional teams.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Experience in the media industry, specifically in network infrastructure supporting content production, editing, and distribution workflows.
- Familiarity with media asset management (MAM) systems and production environments like Avid or Adobe Premiere.
- Understanding of distributed production environments and real-time collaboration tools used in media (e.g., Teradici, HP Anyware).

Pay: $989,828.92 - $1,484,610.75 per year
