FIELD SALES ENGINEER
Purpose:
The Field Sales Engineer is responsible for increasing sales of Walter products and services in their assigned territory. The Field Sales Engineer accomplishes this by providing opti-mal solutions to our customers using value-added selling techniques that present a full range of products and services that demonstrate Engineering Kompetenz. This position establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers, and internal and exter-nal stakeholders to effectively meet customer needs.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Planning: Plan sales activities through market analysis to define the appropriate customers that will facilitate implementation of company strategy.
2. Visiting Customers: Schedule customer visits that are productive for the customer and our company by careful planning for the visit including the purpose and the agenda for the visit.
3. Listening: Engage in active listening to the customer that facili-tates learning the customer needs and requirements.
4. Communication: Communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure an effective network of contacts to react to customer needs.
5. Negotiating: Negotiate agreements in collaboration with custom-ers and business partners to reach the best solution.
6. Aligning Products & Processes: Work with internal stakeholders to coordinate and align company products and processes that result in an optimized solution for the customer requirements.
8. Active Selling: Actively sell our products and services by provid-ing value-added solutions that meet our customers’ needs.
9. Asking for Orders: Actively seek the sales order from the custom-er upon obtaining their agreement and buyin with the proposed value
- added solution.
10. Reporting: Document and report sales activities including test re-ports and cost savings, and forecasts of business through monitor-ing of customers and competitors.
Education and Experience:
University Degree in engineering, advanced technical degree, or experience yielding equivalent knowledge in cutting tool technology
Several years of sales experience with industrial cutting tools where new busi-ness development is the primary focus OR several years of manufacturing expe-rience and ability to sell in end-user and channel sales model
Experience in a manufacturing or distribution marketplace.
Experience in working independently from a home office or virtual office envi-ronment, and traveling a significant amount of time.
