About the Role

As a Sustainability Lead for the H&M Group, you will contribute to the company's strategic foundation for employee and customer-related sustainability initiatives. You will drive the implementation of regional circularity programs and adapt global content for local audiences. You will partner with Government Relations and Public Affairs Manager to provide support with sustainability legislation and policies. You will collaborate closely with the Customer Activation team to find synergies to add value and build improved sustainability perception for the H&M Group.

A Day in the Life

Working at the H&M Group means no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will include the following responsibilities:

  • Together with the Sustainability Manager, drive local sustainability activities for the region, including the garment collecting program, customer communications, and colleague forums and programs.
  • Work cross-functionally to educate and inspire teams, providing input on how to add value and connect sustainability efforts to the company's brand direction.
  • Work with the Learning & Development department to create and adapt relevant onboarding and ongoing training/upskilling around sustainability.
  • Lead local implementation and coordination of global sustainability campaigns.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and consultants to support sustainability strategies and activations.
  • Conduct research and audits around sustainability activities of competitors.
  • Set, follow up, and report on KPIs and objectives connected to project responsibility, showing the connection to added customer value and selling.
  • Support with budgeting, including reviewing and processing of invoices.
  • Strive to reach and engage customers in all touch points by ensuring a close-to-customer approach.
  • Strengthen and protect the H&M Group as a brand by ensuring that the company's brand guidelines and policies are met.

Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:

  • An academic degree in a relevant field, or a combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a project management role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex ideas.
  • A strong understanding of the complex sustainability landscape in the region.
  • Experience in collaborating with agencies.
  • Competence within digital/tech and omni ways of working preferred.
  • Knowledge of setting and following up KPIs to demonstrate return on investment.
  • A proven track record of delivering strategies and solutions that drive business results.
