Job Summary:

The primary goal of an IT Manager at Tyson Foods is to lead a group of IT team members in delivering technology solutions that align to key organizational objectives. This role will plan, coordinate, direct, and design project-related team activities and provide administrative direction and support for daily operational activities of an IT group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide feedback to direct reports to raise awareness of strengths and opportunities for growth and development.
  • Communicate and clarify roles and responsibilities, expectations, and performance goals for each member of the team.
  • Ensure team members understand their career paths and partner with them to identify opportunities to grow and achieve career goals.
  • Ensure team members are fully allocated to priority efforts that align to organizational goals and objectives.
  • Establish, implement, and monitor policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective operation.
  • Implement activities to ensure team performance is meeting or exceeding stated Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) from IT leadership.
  • Administer annual performance reviews based on consistent, candid feedback.
  • Manage indirect resources assigned to project tasks, including consulting resources.
  • Design and provide input into training plans for team members.
  • Application Ownership and Solution Delivery: Ensure effective management of all aspects, including planning, implementation, support, budget, and change management, of business applications in related areas.
  • Develop and Execute IT General Controls Processes Aligned to Application Ownership.
  • Business Engagement: Understand and ensure alignment of IT projects in related areas.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Information Systems, or other related areas.
  • 6+ years of experience in IT management or a related field.
  • Computer Skills: Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Windows and Office tools, and experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project and JIRA.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience communicating technical information to non-technical team members.

  • Proven leadership and project management experience.
  • Strong understanding of roles and responsibilities.
  • Ability to drive initiatives through multiple levels of business.
  • Must possess emotional intelligence and self-awareness.
  • Extensive problem-solving skills.
