Job Overview

SGI Global, LLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Program Manager to support the Department of State, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) in Mexico City, Mexico.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing subject matter expertise to INL and Government of Mexico officials in law enforcement, operations, training, and administrative processes. This includes assessing, planning, monitoring, and communicating orally and in writing to obtain consensus from project partners, provide guidance and recommendations, and to report progress.

Responsibilities
  • This position is located in Mexico City, Mexico, with possible travel requirements to other locations in Mexico, the United States, and other countries.
  • Provide high-level strategic analysis of the current GOM security organization to coordinate the implementation of police professionalization and capacity-building projects.
  • Offer technical direction to INL Program Officers and Project Coordinators on GOM law enforcement capacity building projects.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must possess:

  • A U.S. citizenship.
  • Spanish FSI level 3/3 fluency.
  • English FSI level 4/4 fluency.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in international relations, law enforcement, public policy or related field, or Associate degree with five years of related experience from an accredited institution, OR ten years of related experience in the justice sector, law enforcement, international development, international affairs, or public administration.
  • A combination of fifteen years of law enforcement and/or project management experience with a minimum of three years in project management, two years in law enforcement training programs.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of State (DOS) MRPT security clearance.
  • An understanding of the Mexican police and accusatorial judicial system.
  • The ability to effectively communicate with senior U.S. and GOM officials.
  • Experience drafting and authoring weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite.
