Global Refuge is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated professional to serve as the Head of the Repatriation Program. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a nonprofit organization that has been serving newcomers seeking safety, support, and a share in the American dream since 1939.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day oversight and direction to the repatriation program, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to youth who have returned to Mexico from the United States.
  • Collaborate with the Director for International Programs and other program directors to establish and carry out the strategic direction for the program.
  • Submit detailed and thorough documentation in compliance with Global Refuge policies and procedures.
  • Assist and support on-the-ground legal, logistical, and financial matters, including liaising with banks, lawyers, and accountants to guarantee the smooth functioning of the program.
  • Utilize social work best practices to ensure thorough assessments of the child's progress and services provided.
  • Inform supervisor about trends, challenges, and successes in working with the population.
  • Secure and maintain funding for the department by assisting with the identification of funding sources, writing grants, and reporting.
  • Create and manage the budget for the department.
  • Significantly contribute to and manage numerous funding reports and proposal submissions; review and edit quarterly, annual, and monitoring reports for program services.
  • Hire, train, and develop staff to fulfill the functions of the program, including evaluation, training, technical assistance, program management, and coordination.
  • Hold staff accountable for delivering quality work on time, mentor, and manage performance as necessary.
  • Act as a role model and exhibit a high level of leadership, fostering transparency and fairness in all dealings with staff.
  • Lead staff in meeting the objectives, obligations, and Global Refuge standards, in accordance with external and internal agreements, in a manner that respects and encourages individual gifts and skills.
  • Perform ongoing supervision of case management activities, ensuring staff provide services in compliance with established Global Refuge policies and procedures.
  • Actively work to develop a team atmosphere within the unit and establish a supportive and productive work environment.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in program management, preferably in a nonprofit organization.
  • Proven track record of securing and managing funding for programs.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including youth and families.
