About the Role

This position is a key part of our collections team, responsible for reporting and analysis. The Collections Supervisor will prepare regular reports on key operational metrics and present them to senior management.

The role requires analyzing data and providing insights to support strategic decision making and drive operational improvements. Financial information must be delivered in a timely manner to the corporate office through the finance center or accounting area.

The supervisor will respond to requirements from local authorities and/or internal or external audits. Collaboration with other departments, such as distribution, finance, and lines of business, is essential to ensure seamless coordination and alignment of operational activities with broader organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Provide effective leadership, conduct regular performance evaluations, foster a positive work environment, and develop people.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize collections management.
  • Review, approve, and sign off accounting records related to collections.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients (internal and external).
  • Provide customer service, resolve situations presented by producers, insured, and internal clients related to premium payments.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor the performance of the collections team, track key metrics, such as aging reports, bad debt reserve, and recovery ratios.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and implement new strategies to enhance overall performance.
  • Follow up on premium receivables/paid premiums, monitor the monthly cash budget.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve collections processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field of study. At least 3 years of experience as a Supervisor/Coordinator or in a similar position in the insurance industry is required.

Good knowledge in insurance finance/accounting and collections processes is necessary. Ability to analyze and interpret data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks is also required.

Candidates should have proficient skills in using Power BI, MS Office, advanced Excel (macros), Access, and data mining CRM software. Experience in financial insurance analysis related to collections and strong customer service and client relationship building skills are also desirable.

A general understanding of accounts receivable and billing processing is essential. The ability to lead and develop a team, communicate effectively, and work under pressure is required.
