Viatris is a global healthcare company that empowers people worldwide to live healthier at every stage of life. We are seeking an EHS Coordinator to join our team in Mexico.

The EHS Coordinator will be responsible for identifying potential risks within the work environment and implementing occupational health and safety policies and programs. This role will ensure current working conditions and investigate employees' workplaces to identify potential hazards in the way they work, the equipment used, or the products and services.

The EHS Coordinator will also be responsible for ensuring the updating of health and safety documentation, organizing and delivering safety training, and providing basic health advice and disease prevention programs. Additionally, this role will involve managing facilities in Mexico, area budgets, and personnel supervision.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Complying with internal EHS policies and legal EHS requirements applicable on site.
  • Identifying environmental aspects and health and safety hazards and determining applicable operational controls.
  • Periodically reviewing the efficiency of established operational controls.
  • Providing training to emergency brigades, health and safety commission, and employees involved in critical EHS programs.
  • Leading the incident investigation team.
  • Developing and testing emergency procedures.
  • Ensuring inspection of emergency equipment/devices.
  • Conducting monthly EHS inspections and health and safety commission verifications.
  • Following up on identified non-conformities and findings found in EHS inspections.
  • Determining personal protective equipment according to the position.
  • Strengthening employee compliance with EHS rules.
  • Ensuring compliance with the activities of colleagues assigned to facilities in Mexico.
  • Ensuring compliance with assigned environmental activities.
  • Complying with environmental, safety, and health requirements set forth in legislation and regulations, official Mexican standards related to our activities, as well as those EHS requirements established by the community, our clients, and others which we subscribe to.
  • Managing health plans and medications for internal colleagues.
  • Health interviews, filling out admission history, and maintaining current colleagues' records.
  • Administration of offices and facilities in Mexico.
  • Responsible for budget administration for the area.
  • Owner of security plan.

Basic qualifications for this role include:

  • Bachelor's degree in medicine/doctor.
  • Professional ID.
  • Knowledge and experience in EHS policies and procedures, national, state, and municipal environment, health, and safety legislation.
  • Budget development and management (expense control).
  • Communication.
  • Develop relationships with colleagues.
  • Conflict resolution.
  • Proactivity.
